A redneck janitor crowned with a mullet and armed with a mop, Joe Dirt lands in a series of zany misadventures and befriends some eccentric characters as he searches for his parents, who abandoned him at the Grand Canyon when he was 8 years old. The luckless loser winds up cleaning at a radio station in Los Angeles, where he shares his story with a shock jock (Dennis Miller) and wins over the listeners with his unwavering optimism.
