Combining family values with the formats of MTV's "Real World" and public television's educational programming, this time-travel experiment puts a modern family, the Hymers, in 1940s-style London home during World War II. Michael and Lyn, their daughter Kirstie, and Kirstie's sons Ben and Thomas submit to the hardships of wartime Britain, including food rationing, sewing blackout curtains and building an air-raid shelter.
